Energy Solutions– Not enough progress has been made, nor has funding been adequate for America to begin to find alternative sources of fuel. The first step comes in the country recognizing that the fuel sources we are currently using are not going to last forever. The recent gasoline and natural gas prices have opened many eyes. Funding must be there for research and development. It’s the same concept as when running a company, that money and effort must be spent on finding the next solution. Hydrogen and other alternative fuel sources have shown much promise to alter our independence. As far as short-term solutions, Democrats have begun making efforts to demand concessions from oil companies that continue to make record profits. This must continue to alleviate the strain on American families. But in the long run, we must not let the oil companies continue to prevent progress. Let us demand strong efforts from our Democratic politicians to reach for these new energy solutions.
